Scheme for setting up Poultry of 500 Broilers/1000 Layers.
Objective :
- To encourage farmer to go in for poultry production & increase poultry meat and egg production in the state.
- To assist in transforming Consumer State to Producer State in terms of poultry requirement.
Eligibility:
Any individual having some experience in Poultry Keeping.
Pattern of Financial Assistance for Infrastructure cost of Broiler Farm
Financial Assistance of 75% of Infrastructure cost limited to maximum of Rs.6.00 Lakhs for a Replacement Schedule of 500 Day old chicks per every Fifteen days and Poultry Shed Built up area of Total 2000 sq. ft., and proportionate depending upon replacement schedule and housing capacity of birds accordingly.
Pattern of Financial Assistance for Infrastructure cost of Layer Farm
Financial Assistance of 75% of Infrastructure cost limited to maximum of Rs.21.00 Lakhs for replacement Schedule of 1000 Day old layer chicks(Pullets) per every 18 weeks and Poultry Shed Built up area of Total 7000 sq. ft.
Pattern of Financial Assistance for Infrastructure cost of L.I.T. Birds
Financial Assistance of 75% of Infrastructure cost limited to maximum of Rs.6.00 Lakhs for a Replacement Schedule of 250 Day old chicks per every four weeks and Poultry Shed Built up area of Total 2000 sq. ft., and proportionate depending upon replacement schedule and housing capacity of birds accordingly. The other requirements and admissibility will be treated same as broilers requirements. It is mandatory to purchase Government of India recognized any Low Input technology Day old chicks from Government poultry Farm or ICAR only or any other GOI recognized L.I.T. birds from outside the state.

Pattern of Financial Assistance for Infrastructure for Existing Farmers:
Financial Assistance of 75% of Infrastructure cost will be granted to existing Poultry Farmers who are registered in the Department of A.H.&V.S. for proportionate to the requirement of Livestock strength of the Farm registered. Existing Poultry Farms which are unregistered till now has to compulsorily register the Farm in Department of A.H.& V.S. and mention the Registration number on the Claims (Registration Form available on web site).
The existing farmers should submit a list and statement of items showing quantity and the cost of items that is required to be purchased as per the livestock strength of the farm.
Existing farmer may submit the application form through Local Veterinary Officer for purchase of Infrastructure items and obtain Departmental approval for the purchase of items through recognized supplier.
The beneficiary is required to submit the following within 30 days of purchase through Area Officer and the incentives/ subsidy will be released to beneficiary by DBT.
- Original Purchase bills.
- Bank passbook copy showing/ indicating the payment effected to the party supplying the items.
- The beneficiary will submit a Certificate stating that (1)the Poultry Farm is not managed by Poultry Integration system and Contract Farming (2) The said Premises is not utilised for Poultry Trading Purpose

1.Relaxation of the provision of the Scheme.
The financial assistance to L.I.T. birds Farmer is applicable on the same lines and Terms and Conditions of Broiler farms.
2.Interpretation of the provision of the Scheme.
The scheme with available of Funds can benefit 8-10 broiler/L.I.T farmers or 2-3 layer farmers in a financial year and The scheme will address the issue of Initial Investment of Infrastructure and will be taken care in the form of financial assistance and it will not be burden on the new farmers for bank loan repayment. The Scheme will provide an opportunity and will be a positive step to attract new 8-10 broiler/L.I.T farmers or 2-3 layer new farmers to start the sustainable poultry production activities in Goa. The Scheme will assist in transforming consumer state to Producer State in terms of poultry requirement.
Procedure and other modalities
- The beneficiary should submit the Application Form duly completed along with Project Report to the Department through local area Officer and should obtain acknowledgement of the same (Form available on Web site). The application should be enclosed with following documents and all other relevant documents required in support of the proposal.
- Documents indicating ownership of land.
- Form I & XIV with survey plan indicating the name of applicant.
- N.O.C. from the Landlord/Heirs /co owners in case of Tenants.
- The concerned Officer after inspecting the site will submit the application completed in all respect to the Directorate with his observations.
- The Project Report/papers will be scrutinized and approval of the project will be sent to the applicant within 15 days.
- The beneficiary should register the Proposed Poultry Farm in the Department and obtain Provisional Registration number.
- The beneficiary can start a Poultry Farm Unit with his own finance or by availing loan from the Financial Institution. In both the circumstances incentives/subsidy proportionate to the work completed will be released to the beneficiary Bank Account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Original Bill, Vouchers pertaining to constructions.
- Purchase receipt of equipments, machinery
- Valuation certificate of shed and stores from approved valuer.
- completion certificate.
- The Veterinary Officer/Assistant Director will submit within 07 days all these documents submitted by applicant with his/ her observation to the Director of Animal Husbandry.
- The Deputy Director will inspect the Unit and submit within 10 days his observations for sanctioning the proposal by the Department.
